2008 has come and gone...
Hello All,
2008 has come and gone and while we have faced some challenges on the one hand and awards on the other hand throughout the year, we were still able to come out on top and be proud of our many achievements and successes as a team.
I was pleased to be able to show the company’s appreciation at our annual Managers Night and at our annual Staff Appreciation Party. Everyone has worked so hard this last year and what better way to end the year with a few drinks and fabulous food!
I was honoured to take part in our Annual Staff Appreciation Party on January 16th. This night was absolutely enchanting and it was our way of showing all our employees just how much we appreciate them and their hard work. Our Executive Chef, Derek Kennedy, along with his outstanding team created for us, what I can sincerely say, the best meal of all time. With the help of all the Managers who helped serve the buffet to all the individuals involved in planning and executing this event, it turned out to be a fun filled night with great prizes, games and entertainment. We announced Employee of the Year for both properties to two very deserving individuals. Sotiris Eleftheriadis and Jamie Rahardjo have been outstanding in their deliverance of excellent guest service and both of them are amazing team players. There wasn’t a doubt in my mind that they both were the obvious choice for this prestigious award. Carrie Davalos, our Director of Group Sales was named Producer of the Year and Derek Kennedy, our Executive Chef was named Manager of the Year. They danced, they ate, they drank and what better way to end the night than with announcing the winner of our “What Motivates You Contest” to Jay Chellew, a server in Eight Wine Bar and presenting him with a 5 night stay in South Beach Miami.
We, the managers of the hotel, celebrated the New Year in a deferent way. This year we went to a lounge bar and raised a toast to a team work, outstanding performance and good friendship. We spent the night at Kultura Restaurant and Lounge. It is a rare occurrence to have all managers able to get together away from work to enjoy some quality time with each other and relax, even if for an hour or two. I was proud to be able to raise my glass and toast to probably one of the best management teams that Skyline has had in a long time.
I am extremely proud of all the staff and all out achievements in 2008 and I am looking forward to celebrating even more successes at our 2009 Staff Appreciation Party and Manager’s Night.
Share our great moments with some of these photos.
